The main aim of Legato is to take care about the continuation of the Various Voices Festivals every four years. For the Festival in Legato has sent out in Oct. The board is happy to announce that there are now three choirs in competition to be the host of the 15th Various Voices Festival.
Both ensembles consist of male and female singers age eighteen and older. With a wide range of varying musical training and backgrounds, the choruses are committed to fostering an environment of professionalism, respect, pride and unity. Both choruses are comprised of gay, straight, transgender, men and women of all ethnicity.

We rehearse every Wednesday evening in Etterbeek, in an atmosphere marked by the joy of being together, pride in ourselves, and generosity of spirit. The chorus was founded by gay music pioneer Jon Reed Sims. The group does not require that members identify as gay or bisexual. The eligibility requirements for SFGMC are to be at least 18 years of age, to self identify as a man, and to pass the audition process defined by the Artistic Director.

A political assassination, a deadly virus, an identity long suppressed, and a fear perhaps as old as history—given a list like this, a powerful social upheaval was inevitable. And it would be accompanied by a need for many of those involved to express their anger, sorrow, and hope in music.
